My personal experience :  we went to panchgani for project tour consisting of around 40 people from Hyderabad.we have planned to stay there for 3days. so we have booked everything advance to avoid time waste for searching for anything. We reached pune from hyderabad by train around 5Am and the bus was waiting for us outsie the station. It took again 2;30 hours from pune to Panchgani. We have booked one restaurant( dont remember the name) which costed around 600 bucks per day per person including only breakfast. Actually on first day we have booked in advance for lunch also for Rs200 per head but it was not worth of 200 bucks.
so from the next day we didnt book anything in advance.

Day1: we all fresh up and had lunch before starting for the site seeig. we took one guide with us and started roaming to the places which are near Panchgani and where the Heavy vehicles will be allowed. One thing i want to remind you is that for all the places heavy vehicles will not be allowed. you have to take taxy for those places. We have covered parsi point, mapro garden(you can do shopping here all types of spices) and venna lake.

Day2: we started early in the morning for visiting pratapgarh fort which is around 30 km from panchagni on the way to mahabaleshwar. Fort is very historical place and is must see place. From there we went to Diveagarh beach but reached there around 6Pm so could not spend much time except playing in water.

Day3: The last day our people have didvided into two groups: one group for site seeing places and other group for Paragliding.I thought like i can go for paragliding anywhere outside panchgani also but i cant visit the places which are unique to this place so opted for site seeing only. For all thse view points Bus was not allowed and should take only taxi. so having no option we took four taxis and have covered all the places wich are left in the last two days like Table land, and many view points like elephant point, suicide point, echo point, devils kicthcen, view of Dam etc.

Finally after packing our bag and buggage started to pune around 6:30 PM to catch the bus to Hyderabad to 9:30 PM and reached Hyderabad around 8:30 AM in the morning.
